Royal Society of Biology: Enter the Intermediate Biology Olympiad 2017

The 2017 Intermediate Biology Olympiad competition is now open for teachers to register their students.

The Intermediate Biology Olympiad takes place on the 26th and 27th June and entries are now open for teachers to register their 16- 17 year old students.

Test details
One hour will be available for students to complete the paper; which will consist of multiple choice questions. Questions will be set on topics students are likely to have covered at GCSE and in their first year of A level. The paper is to be taken online with staff supervised exam conditions in school at any time convenient during the competition days.

Students who take part are encouraged to put this in their UCAS personal statement. As a thank you to these students for participating, following the competition they are able to claim a free year’s membership to BioNet (a saving of £5).

Certificates will be posted to teachers of bronze, silver and gold winning students at the start of the 2017 autumn term.

Top winning students in 2017 will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in London on Friday 7th July 2017. Gold winning students will be invited to take part in a special Field Studies Council run training day in London to learn about the Ecology of a London Park.

A poster is available to put on your school’s noticeboard to encourage your students to participate.
