Royal Society of Biology: Biology Challenge, Intermediate Olympiad & Teacher of the Year
The Royal Society of Biology has so many fantastic opportunities coming up… take a look!
British Biology Olympiad
Teachers can now register their post-16 students to take part in the British Biology Olympiad 2018 (BBO). The competition encourages students to continue studying the biosciences beyond school, and also provides a means of selecting a team to represent the UK at the International Biology Olympiad. Every school is entitled to enter two students free of charge for the BBO with additional paid places.
Biology Challenge
The next Biology Challenge will take place between 6th – 26th March 2018. Teachers can register their 13-15 year old students to participate in the competition, which encourages students to take an interest in biology beyond the school curriculum. Top scoring students are rewarded with publicly recognised certificates, and will be offered the opportunity to attend an awards ceremony in London.
School Biology Teacher of the Year Award
The Royal Society of Biology’s School Biology Teacher of the Year Award is open to all teachers who are working with students aged 11-18 years old, teaching pre-university level biology programmes of study, and currently employed in a UK based school or college. The award aims to recognise outstanding and inspiring biology teachers, and is now open for nominations.
