Big Bang North West 2018: STEMsational activities from Diamond Sponsor, Unilever!
Unilever wowed visitors at The Big Bang North West 2018 with innovative activities and a sensational new stand! Our Diamond Sponsor showcased the science behind the everyday through exciting interactive demos from their world-class research & development experts.

All of this started in Port Sunlight and we are always proud to represent the long-standing heritage at the Big Bang North West. Our aim is to inspire the next generation of students to pursue a STEM career by showcasing the science behind the everyday.”
Activities with Unilever included hair microscopy, how to make shampoo, sensory deprivation and packaging material games, a playdough mixer, augmented reality and much more! There were four areas of fun – Consumer, Packaging, Processing & Formulation.
Unilever also generously sponsored our Communication Award at The Big Bang North West as part of the Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Competition.
The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition is a national competition for young people to showcase their impressive science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) projects and to reward and recognise their achievements.
The Metro Mayor for the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram, visited The Big Bang North West as guest of honour. He enjoyed taking part in Unilever’s activities with pupils & even tried their photo-booth… say cheese everyone!
The Unilever Bright Future Programme
This year at the Big Bang North West, Unilever re-opened entries for next September’s Bright Future Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers and students to learn more about what Unilever do, what happens at Port Sunlight and how STEM can shape a career as well as challenge pupils to solve some exciting real world business problems.
