Event: A Pint of Science & A Journey to the Tropics!
Celebrate the Pint of Science Festival & join the LSTM on a Journey to the Tropics, with researchers from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the University of Liverpool.
The trailblazers from their institutes will take you on a journey and through history and hip-hop will demonstrate how they are working to end the scourge of Tuberculosis, how nurse midwives tackle the many challenges they face, and how a carefully designed house can protect you from malaria.
These informal science talks take place in local pubs and are always a big hit (over 18’s only). Open to students, ambassadors, professionals & non-scientists alike, they’re a great way to get an idea of careers in medicine and nursing in challenging situations. The LSTM do a lot of their research away from the bench in exciting & unusual places, get involved to find out more.
