International Day of Women & Girls in Science
On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, share your stories, celebrate women and girls who are leading innovation and call for actions to remove all barriers that hold them back – #WomenInScience
Between 2014 and 2016 approximately 30% of all female students selected STEM-related fields in higher education, that needs to be higher.
‘With Sustainable Development Goal 9, part of the Global Goals that world leaders agreed to in 2015 with a deadline of 2030, countries around the world have pledged to “build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation.’
‘Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, also half of its potential. Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development.’
The International Day of Women & Girls in Science supports full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls along with gender equality and female empowerment.
