Nuffield Research Placements – More Fantastic Feedback!

The Nuffield Research Placements programme provides engaging, hands-on research projects, where Year 12 students have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards the work of a host organisation through a well-supervised but independent research collaboration relating to an area of science, quantitative social science, computing, technology, engineering or maths (or a combination).

If you’re thinking of getting involved as a student or a host organisation, there is no better way to discover the benefits of this programme than through a selection of our fantastic 2020/21 feedback!

“Thank you for your support! I’m really grateful for the opportunity of taking part in this placement and I’m happy I have this new experience.”

“I really enjoyed my placement and working on my report and poster with Ian and the other people in my group. Thank you for the opportunity.”

“I am very grateful that you allowed me to be part of this incredible experience!”

“A huge thank you to Nuffield for providing me with the opportunity for a research placement, it’s meant a lot to me and has been a lot more impactful than I originally thought (I was really scared). I’m going to tell everyone I can about it.”

“I am really enjoying completing my project, I think I’ve gained skills I wouldn’t have got from anywhere I normally situate myself. It’s been really insightful and so valuable and I’m extremely grateful.”

“I have been thoroughly enjoying the placement, especially since coordinating my time and work better in the past couple of weeks – thank you once again Helen (All About STEM) for the support!”

I had an amazing time during my placement. Thank you!”

Host Organisation Feedback:

“I got some great feedback from the students at the end of the placement which was lovely to hear. One of the questions I asked was how they think the experience could be improved and it was unanimous, that only being face to face would have improved it.  So overall, I would say that it was a success. They produced some really good reports.”

“On behalf of our team, I wanted to say thank you for all the support you provided throughout the selection process and the placement, and for your always prompt replies. Thank you also for the opportunity and we hope that the students learnt skills that will be useful to them in their future careers.”
