ONE WEEK LEFT: Make your nominations for the STEM Inspiration Awards!
There is just one week left until nominations close for the STEM Inspiration Awards. Don’t miss your chance to reward a STEM star!
The STEM Inspiration Awards recognise the UK’s most dedicated and inspirational people motivating young people in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Winners in six award categories will be announced at the annual STEM Inspiration Awards ceremony, at the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Sainsbury of Turville on 24 November 2016.
There is an amazing trip to CERN in January for the winner in each award category which is generously offered by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).
Award entrants can nominate themselves, or nominate on behalf of somebody else. There is no limit as to the number of categories that anyone can nominate in and all finalists will be decided by an expert panel. Nominations can be made until 12 noon on 30 September 2016.
Award Categories:
• STEM Ambassador: this award recognises significant voluntary contributions as a STEM Ambassadors
• STEM Apprentice: this award recognises the work of an apprentice or technician in industry who has inspired young people to follow vocational career routes
• STEM Employer: this award recognises those STEM sector employers, who are not ordinarily involved in inspiring young people in STEM, that have supported their employees to become a STEM Ambassador, and then to actively engage with their local schools
• STEM Club Award: this award recognises those STEM Clubs that have proactively engaged with STEM Clubs for the benefit of their pupils and schools
• The Joan Sjøvoll STEM Leadership Award: this award recognises the dedication of a school leader who has driven forward the STEM agenda in their school
• STEM Teacher: this award recognises those teachers who have shown a strong commitment to STEM for the benefit of their pupils and school
