The ‘Scrub up on Science’ Challenge!
November 21st 2017

The ‘Scrub up on Science’ Challenge!

The ‘Scrub up on Science’ Challenge for 11 to 16s has been running since 2014. The Society of Cosmetic Scientists want to give students an insight into the industry, help students discover ‘unexpected’ STEM careers – and learn that you can mix both creativity and scientific knowledge in a career in science.

Students develop a bath bomb or bubble bath product, focusing on developing an understanding of chemical processes, and taking part in experiments to achieve a quality cosmetic product. The SCS are also offering schools free surfactant to help students complete the challenge, and the chance to have a visit from someone working in the industry.

Selected finalists will be invited to The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester on 20th June 2018 to recreate their product for the judges in a bid to be crowned winner!
