Along with the CREST Awards programme, the British Science Association also run British Science Week (BSW). BSW is an annual ten-day celebration of STEM in March, featuring entertaining and engaging events and activities across the UK for people of all ages.
CREST Discovery Awards offer a great first introduction to project work. Typically undertaken by 11-to-14-year olds, they take about five hours to complete (so can be done in one day!) and are ideal for classroom, club or youth group activity days.
CREST Bronze Awards are well regarded, high quality and a tangible recognition of success. The awards can be run in schools, clubs, or at home. CREST Bronze provides a real-life experience of ‘being’ a scientist and working on STEM projects, allowing students to experience the project process; improving their enquiry, problem solving and communication skills.
Educators wishing to get a discount on Discovery or Bronze CREST will need to submit entry fees and pay for their projects by 30 April 2018. The code can be used for as many awards as they wish, and can use it multiple times in the period if they wish to submit multiple projects.
