Big Bang North West: TITAN – North West Regional Organised Crime Unit
Fantastic news! TITAN – North West Regional Organised Crime Unit will be exhibiting at The Big Bang North West. We have been working with TITAN to spread the word on Cyber Crime and protect students in schools. Be sure to visit their stand!
With cyber–crime in the news on an almost daily basis it is important to understand how you can take steps to protect yourself from these threats. Cyber Officers from Titan, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit, will help you to understand what threats exist and some steps you can take to help protect yourself.
“Our Prevent and Protect Officers at TITAN are hosting a stand at the Big Bang North West to help spread the Government’s advice and guidance on cyber-crime to as many members of the public as possible. It is important to educate children and adults of the importance of staying safe online.
We want to help steer the younger generation away from potentially becoming cyber-criminals and to help guide them into being our cyber security experts of the future. We want to raise awareness of how young people can use their computer skills in a positive way – there are so many fantastic cyber careers out there!
The event will also help us to build relationships with other like-minded businesses and authorities to help us host more events like this in the future.”

“Our Protect Officers regularly talk to businesses and the public across the region, informing them about the current threat landscape, the UK Cyber Strategy, and cases the TITAN Cyber Team have worked on. They provide common sense advice around what businesses and the public can do to protect themselves against a cyber-attack.
Our Prevent Officers visit individuals on the cusp of cybercrime and raise awareness of the law around computer misuse. Prevent officers work with schools, universities, youth organisations and private industry to promote positive use of computer skills.”
