Celebrating International Women’s Day!
It’s International Women’s Day and we’re celebrating with some fabulous photos and fascinating facts of our own!
This year the theme of International Women’s Day is ‘celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women’. 87.5% of Team MerseySTEM are women and when it comes to our events, we’re super-successful at encouraging women in STEM!
Statistically, 90% of girls attending The Big Bang North West 2015 agreed that the event showed them that Engineering is suitable for girls and boys.
75% of girls said that the event made careers in Technology more desirable and currently over 55% of our bookings for Big Bang North West 2016 are girls!
We have girls in our STEM Clubs in schools across the North West.
They’re attending our Chemistry at Work events.
We have girls learning to code.
They’re exploring STEM careers.
We encourage primary age girls in STEM…
…and female future scientists.
Girls get hands-on at our Engineering Your Future events.
Our NSEC team from St Julie’s attended Big Bang at Parliament with our Managing Director, Michelle Dow…
Not to mention all of our amazing female STEM Ambassadors.
And finally… our team! Promoting and facilitating STEM throughout the region and beyond.
Today we celebrate you all, well done!
