Schools: Celebrate World Toilet Day with WaterAid!

WaterAid can’t get enough of toilets and it’s no joke. They’re always looking for a chance to talk about them – which is why they love celebrating World Toilet Day on 19 November!

A day all about toilets sounds funny but for many millions of people around the world, toilets are no laughing matter. Shockingly, one in three of the world’s population don’t have access to a safe, private loo.

That’s why this year WaterAid are asking you and your pupils to help get the word out with a variety of toilet-themed activities.

You could:
• Run a Not-your-bog-standard Comedy Quiz
• Use our lesson plans about sanitation
• Publicise World Toilet Day through your school’s own channels and book a free WaterAid speaker to give an inspiring talk about taps and toilets.

Last year WaterAid helped over three million people gain access to a safe, clean and private toilet – help them do even better this year!
